OVERVIEW

It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born, is a process of learning.

Dynamic Fabrication – a two-week intensive by James Forren – was an investigation into the dynamic pre-cast concrete formwork. Dynamic molds adjust to digital models to create a variety of forms from only one mold.

The Goal:
Create a single automated-mold which could be used to create a variety of parametric structures through pre-cast concrete.

The Process:
By refining the work done in M1 studio design students at Dalhousie University, this free lab laid the groundwork for future concrete casting methods.
